Aidan didn't know she was making him look like one of her older workers, but that was fine if she was. He took a deep breath and watched as she heaved the bale up, then broke it apart. He spread the rest of it out so that the cows wouldn't only crowd around one bale. He looked up and saw the water bin, then the hose. He figured he could do it without her help. He brought it over and put it in the bin, then went to turn it on. He hurried back and made sure the hose wouldn't slip out.

His eyes went to the cows as they came over, but then stayed with the rest. He studied their movements and the makes of their bodies, but he didn't really know what made a good show cow or anything like that. He just remained where he was, and when the bin was about full, he hurried back to the spiget and turned it off. He rolled up the hose agian and wiped his hands on the back of his jeans. which still slid down his narrow hips a bit. He waited for Sam's next words.

Sam eyed the steers, cracking her knuckles."See those two with the atgs?" she asked him, her hands flexing. They had to be moved soon so they could fatten up to be sent to the butcher. Maybe a week or so in another pen would make them nice and fatty.

He heard her question and nodded softly. he figured since they had tags, they weren't going to be used for anything around here. Maybe they would be butchered and sent off...but he didn't really know. All he knew was that a large knot of pain had worked its way over his heart, and he was trying to battle it off. A young kid his age shouldn't be having a heart attack or anything like that, but from all of the stress he had endured..was it possible? He ignored it for now, just sitting in his own silence, trying not to bring his hand to his heart. His face was turning pale, which was the only hint that something was wrong. He admonished himself..nothing was wrong. He had put this family through enough, and he had to live with this. It would pass soon enough, it just had to.

Sam nodded softly, eyes on the steers."They are gonna be sent to the butcher. They aren't any good here. Their bad for show and too spooky for steer werstling or cattle cutting," she said. Her eyes went to Aidan and grew worried."Aidan.. are you ok?" she asked, her voice worried.

Aidan looked over as she spoke about the cattle, and nodded.Right..what a life. His words were forced out and a bit breathless, and he looked away as she looked over. He took a deep breath and felt the pain contract again. What was going on? He heard her question, and was trying to shrug it off.Yeah...I'm fine.. He told her quietly, still forcing. He looked back at the cows and then waited for her to tell him what else he could do. But, just when he was ready to go and help clean the pen, it finally took a hold of him. He clung to his chest and doubled over in pain, and found himself going to his knees. He cried out in simple pain, then gasped out her name.Sam.. He didn't know what was happening, and it scared him. He tried bringing his rapid breathing under control, but it wasn't working. He thought about living though, and that slowed it a bit.

Sam yelped and ran over to him, kneeling down. SHe heart went over his heart and she began to him him pumps, to keep it going."JOSH!! GET THE TRUCK," she cried, gathering Aidan up in her arms. Josh saw something was wrong and headed for the truck, jumping over the fence with a hand on it. As soon as it started, he drove it over and Sam lept in, still holding Aidan.

The pumps that she gave him helped him a little bit, and he was able to breath a bit better. His hands were shaking from the trauma it was causing, and when he felt Sam's arms around him, he closed his eyes, all of the color gone from his face. He focused on getting his breath back, but the pain was so bad. A muffled cry was heard from him as he was held, and he tremored violently. Maybe it was a bit more then just a heart attack. But Aidan wasn't thinking about that. He kept his eyes shut tightly and listened to what was going on around him.

Jos tore out of the driveway and pelted down the road, going almost over teh speed limit. Sam began chest presses again to keep Aidan's heartbeat steady.
(To the hospital!)
