Darren drove along the road, following a map covering the dashboard of his Red Pickup, behind his vehicle was a horsebox and he could just see in his mirror the nose of his horse poked through the window at the top of the box. He was following directions from a call center he had phoned last night about a stable he should check out. After a while he came to the turn in and slowed before indicating and driving off down this quieter road. Soon enough a stable came into view, and Darren slowed a little more as he pulled up a little way from the actual barn and jumped out of the pickup. He looked about, it was early morning and he couldn’t see any other people around.''Maybe im a bit to early--'' he said out loud to himself and ruffled his brown hair before locking the pickup and walking towards the barn looking around as he walked through the door to the barn he called out ''Hello...?''

The duo galloped, long and hard down the track. It was like they were the only two left on the earth and all sounds were blotted out. The blonde finally slowed the blazed Quarter Horse down to a walk and gave him a long rein. Lilly turned Deal Me In, a chestnut barrel racer, down the long tree-lined driveway. The gelding was tired, and she dismounted swiftly as they reached the barn. She tied in in the cross ties, untacked him, popping the western gear on the rail. She fetched the hose and turned it on, completely in her own world.

Kirsten walked toward Lilly, after seeing a red pickup pull up. Lilly, She whispered tapping her coworker on the shoulder. Who's he? Then a thought came to her. I wonder if he's gonna be working here? That would be so... She trailed off not knowing what to say. Confidently Kirsten strode over to the boy, he looked about the same age as her if not a year older. You looking for something? She asked upon approaching the him.

Lilly looked up and her mocha gaze fell on the newcomer after serching Kirsten and followed her sight. She held her gaze for a moment, befoer shrugging. shrugged. The guy, though cute was a cuple of years older then her, she guessed, though she personally looked older then she was. She dired of the gelding, and lead him out to follow Kirsten to the boy, standing behind her.

A slim posted to the smooth beat of a dapple gray stallion in the upper ring, listening to the pounding rhythm of the two-beated gait. After a few times around, the sent the Arabian into a canter, sitting half-seat. When she slowed Skies a few minutes later, she noticed the unfamiliar pickup truck in the drive and the voices of workers floating up to her. She clucked softly to the stallion, sending him down the dirt path to the stables. She'd only worked the horse for a half hour, since he'd just been lame not too long ago. He hadn't worked up a sweat, so she quickly untacked him and ran a hard brush over him before letting him out in the pasture. Now to turn her attention to their visitor. Jen Cagle strode out to where the trio stood, two of them her employees, the other a man guy she'd never seen before. Perhaps he wanted a job, or a place to board. In that case, introductions were in order. As she reached him, she extended a hand to shake.Hi, I'm Jen Cagle, co-owner of Crystal Stables. What can I help you with?

He was looking around and as he did so saw a girl approach him with a confident yet somewhat welcoming expression. He rotated his shoulder slightly as she stopped moving and he spoke up, a small smile creasing his lips.''Hey--'' he trailed off as yet another girl came up to stand behind the first. He sent a smile to her as well, before looking back to the one who had addressed him.''I’m here to find somewhere to board my stallion, but where is --''. Again he was interrupted by another woman, to his relief he heard her say she was co-owner. Then she could be just the person he needed to talk to. He turned to her, taking her hand and shook it before explaining himself.''Hey, I'm Darren Autumn. Umm, yes there is something you could help me with... I understand I might be able to board my stallion here? And possibly get a job as well?. It was a mouthful to say at once, and after he finished he took a moment to shift his weight from one foot to the other. It was cold, even with the early morning sun beaming down. Darren heartily whished he was wearing warmer clothes, Not this black T-shirt and faded jeans. To be honest, Darren looked at this moment like he belonged at a skate park, not a stable. But none the less, he waited for Jen to answer.

Lilly felt uncomfortable and fidgeted. She waited for a moment after the boy, darren, spoke again but then moved the gelding to the hose and busied her self washing him off, sweat scraping and finally towel drying the gelding. Finally she opened the gate and let Deal out into the paddock.

Jen listened intently, mentally running through the stalls to make sure there was an available one. After he'd finished, she thought for a moment more.Yeah, we can find a place to board your stallion. As for a job... she trailed off, studying him once more. What can you do? What are your skills?

He noticed the second girl who had approached him on his arrival leave to wash off her horse. And then turned his attention back to Jen, to listen to what she was saying. Darren nodded sub-consciously as he took in what she said.''Oh, well I have worked at a stable before. I’ve done basic jobs, like skipping out, grooming and such. I also have given quite a few riding lessons to people at the stable I used to work at. If you need to see my riding instructor license I can go and get it, its in the pickup --'' he was talking about the license that you needed to be legally allowed to give lessons. He had been to a collage for a short time where he had got his degree whilst working with horses.''I've also had a bit of experience in bringing on problem horses and previously abused ones'' he added on a side note, rotating his left shoulder slightly as he spoke.

Jen smiled at his qualifications. Not only did he have his instructing liscence, but was experienced in working on problem and abused horses.Well, Darren, it looks like you came to the right place. Here at Crystal one of our main projects is working with problem and rescued horses. We have many of them that still have some work to be done before they can be put up for adoption. she gestured to a few of the nearby stalls, each holding horses that were still being rehabilitated.Once they've been rehabilitated, we put them up for sale to a good home. Turning back to him, she continued.Judging by what you've told me, I think you'd be an excellent addition to our stables.

''Great'' he said with a grin, he just found himself a job. Phew, that wasn’t as bad as he had thought it would be.''Do I need to sign any forms or anything?'' he asked and shifted his weight from one foot to another, awaiting Jen's reply. Well this was good, Wolf not only had a stable now to move into but Darren had a job at the same place.
[ooc - so... what barn is Wolf going into?]

Jen shook her head.Nope. We're pretty laid back here, as long as you don't act like an idiot. she offered a smile. And if you wish, some of our other workers live here as well, seeing as we have lots of rooms upstairs in the house. She paused, waiting for a response.
-He'll be going in the barn we use for boarders/workers horses. We don't have a specific sub-board for that.-

''Yeah, that'd be good. I don’t actually love anywhere to live at the moment.'' Darren said with a weak smile. Then he gestured with his hand to the horse trailer. ''Where’s this boy in here's stall? Would you mind showing me?'' He asked tentatively, he didn’t want to get in the way if she had anything better to do. But otherwise he would probably be wondering around aimlessly looking for the stall.

For some reason, Jen had a good feeling about hiring Darren. This way, more horses would be able to be sold. God knew they needed the room. She and Sasha were usually busy with supervising their workers and excercising horses. Now they'd be able to get more done.Yeah, I'll show you where you can put him then I'll show you your room. Jen walked away a few steps and turned back. You comin'?

''Okay, Ill bring him with me'' he said, jogging back to the horse trailer and slowly bringing down the back door. There was some shuffling around inside and Wolf snorted as Darren un fastened the bar that closed the gap between the stallions rump and the back door and then climbed in through the side door to untie him. He rubbed the stallions nose lightly before ducking under the other barrier and pushing himself into the stallions chest. Wolf backed up slowly down the ramp. Darren could trust Wolf on the ground, it was just once you rode him you got the problems. Turning the Warmblood round he followed after Jen, leading the paint horse with him.
