A group of ten horses thundered down the backstretch, none of them seeming to take the lead. It was a claiming race for three-year-olds, deemed unable to make the cut by their trainers or owners.
Sasha Simbel and Jen Cagle sat in the stands, watching them coming around the turn. A couple fell behind the group while the others continued on at the same pace. Two horses fought for the lead, exchanging places every ten seconds or so.
5,7,9Sasha thought, looking up at the moniter to see where they were. One was second, another third, the last was fifth. Not bad. Her heart began to race as they came down the homestretch, number 7 in first place. With a bit of encouragement from the rider, he broke off more from the rest, now taking a clear lead. numbers 5 and 9 were now in third and fourth, exchanging places once and a while. Please win, please win! she prayed.

Miranda stood next to the track, watching the horses run. She was a assitant. Last year, a horse stumbled and ripped some meat off its shoulder but there was no one there ready to assist the horse. So this year, they had people at various parts of the tracks with medical bags. Miranda watched the horses, her hands clapsed before her.Oh Lord, please, don't let anyone fall,[/b] she thought.

The crowd cheered as number 7 came in first she looked up to the screen to the order. It read-
1. Number 7----xXx 2. Number 4 3. Number 5----xXx 4. Number 9----xXx 5. Number 6 6. Number 8 7. Number 1 8. Number 2 9. Number 10 10. Number 3
Sasha and Jen gave a shout of joy, the horses they had put in a claim on had won. They squeezed their way through the crowd to where they were announcing who had gotten what horse. Number 7 went first. The two woman waited silently for the buyer to be announced.
Number 7 goes to Sasha Simbel came the announcement.
Sasha smiled, but said nothing. She continued to wait for them to announce the buyer of the colt's brother, number 5.
Number 5, also to Sasha Simbel.
Jen shook Sasha gently with excitement, knowing that the last horse they wanted would be announced next, ending the horses from that stable.
Number 9, Sasha Simbel. That's all from Mr. Trottingham's stable, now to the stable of Mr. and Mrs. Weringheim.
Sasha stepped forward and wrote out a check for all three horses, handing it to the man named Trottingham. He gave her a smile and a brisk nod, telling the horses would be trailered to Crystal Stables the next day. Jen warned Sasha of the time, and both s left the track.
((If anyone else wants to buy, I'll keep selling. None of them have specific genders, names, colors, etc. the only thing that has to remain constant is that they are all three-year olds.))
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jim looked up at the crowd waiting for the buyers to be announced, a good amount of people. He looked down at the list of Weringheim's horses. Four from him before the next stables.
The next horse for sale is Number 6.
((If you're going to buy, just say that so-and-so was interested in Number(s)___ and had the check for $____ ready))

Miranda sat on the fence, chatting softly to some other people. Some jockies came over and asked Miranda questions about how to prevent their horses from stumbling or hurting themselves in the races. Some asked her if she had ever been called out when a horse snapped its leg. She was happy to say she never saw a horse snap its leg on the course but had helped out with some that stumbled or ran into a fence while turning. With a stren face, she told them to never run their horses into a fence or take a turn too sharp and to get back to their spots for the race was going to begin.
