So would you want to ride again? I mean, you would sort of have to, at Crystal. If you still want to come...

He looked at her and smiled, he thought about how great it would be to be able to ride again. And then he would get to see mnore of Lilly...He liked her, she was the first person he had talked to in a while (excluding the hotel staff). He was warming to the idea of working and maybe riding at Crystal Stables. He said slowly;
Yeah. I'd like that.
He smiled at her again, and breathed outr, that was a weight lifted off him. If he could get a job, the most of his worries would be gone. |

Lilly's sometimes hard eyes softened. Some guys seemed to have a wquality that meant she couldn't help but smile, laugh and couldn't be serious when with them. She couldn't help but like them. Lilly didn't understand it, but most of these such guys were her friends. Nick was one of them. She smiled predictably warmly, excited.
Great!She said slightly loudly, she added in a softer tone:I mean... I'd like that too...
She laughed at her self easily, shivering as she exhale caused a cloud of steam to form and dissapear.

He let out a laugh, and grinned as a thick mist appeared in front of his face. He looked around, and realized it was getting alot colder, he rubbed his hands together and shivered, then smiled at Lilly. He thought that working at atbles might help him to get his life back on track. He would recieve some kind of payment, and he would get to see more of Lilly. Plus he would be spending most of the day with horses.

Lilly felt her lips turn upward into a smile. She would like it if he came, she liked him. He was nice to her, and she enjoyed his company. And she loved seeing someone ride and someone new at the stables.
Whenever your ready!
She said softly, though loud enough to hear clearly. She shivered and rubbed her upper arms.

Nick looked at her, and at that moment he saw her shiver. He unzipped his hoodie, and shrugged it off. He wrapped it around her uncertainly, and waited to see if she declined the guesture. It was definitely getting colder. He wasn't looking forward to returning to his present accomadation. He thought of that uninviting hotel room. He shivered slightly himself. Although his negative thoughts were lifted as he thought of spending more time with Lilly at the stables. He looked at her and waited if she would shrug off his jacket. It had been one of those moments (when she had shivered) that he had no idea how to handle properly. He smiled nervously at her. He decided to chance something that he would never have done in a different situation. He lifted his arm, and put it around her shoulders. It was stiff, almost with embarassment. He waited to see if she wuold object (he was almost sure that she would). Nick glanced at her nervously and looked down at his feet again. |

Lilly's eyes widened ever so slightly as he placed the jacket over her slowly. She shot him a grateful look, accompainied by a smile. She reached to wrap it around her, as he placed his arm across her sholder. Her smile widened and she reached to her sloder with the hand furthest from Nick, to hold the hand that rested on her sloder. She had no idea what to do, though held her pools watching his.

As she pulled his jacket closer around her shouldders, and took hold of his hand, it sent soft shivers sending up and down his arms. He became aware that she was watching him intently. He looked back at her, and realized that he had no clue what to do neaxt, he had made the first move, and had nothing to do but wait for a few moments to see what she would do. He smiled nervously at her. His breath let out misty ouffs everynow and then. The air had turned considerably colder, a thick chill coated the air around them now. |

Lilly had really no control over their somewhat odd situation. Two strangers, meeting and agreeing to work together, then ending up like a to-be couple. But who know/ Perhaps they were. Lilly decided to follow her instincts, which often lead her into bad spots, but she ignored that. She shuffled her body to adjust her postion, and leaded on his sholder, watching the mist set in eerilly.

He sighed deeply, as she leaneed on him. He felt himself relax, as the tension broke, and his embarassment slowly faded away. He rubbed her shoulder gently, and smiled softly. He joined her in gazing out into the chill air. There was an almost strange way of their meeting. It was not an arrangement he would have pictured himself in, but it was one that he was happy to be in now. He laughed inwardly ta himself, he thought she must like him if she had accepted his gestures. He knew he was glad to be there at that moment. |

He smiled when she said his name, and smiled even wider when she told him he was glad that he was going to crystal. He found himsefl wondering like him whether they could maybe spend more time together outside of work. He carried on looking at her unconciously and blinked at his fooloshness. He siad;
Me too he hesitated for a moment Lilly...
If he had been braver, then he would have said I really like you, I hope we can spend more time together. But because he wasn't the most bold of people, then he could not bring himself to say it. |

Lilly smiled at his agreeance. At his next comment, she leaned closer to him, cocking her head slightly, a smile playing in the corner of her lips.
"... Yes?"
She asked when he didn't continue after a moment of silence.

Nick looked back at her and smiled. Her face was smiling curiouosly at him. He was adamant that he wouldn't say what he was thinking. He looked back up to the water in the distance

He replied. He msiled lightly again. But inside, his stomach was tying itself in knots. He was cursing to himself silently.Why was he normally so shy? Why didn't he just talk to her? He sighed again and forced himself to smile, despite his hatred for himself. |

Lilly looked at Nick curiously, and shrugged lightly.
"Okay then..."
She mused, a smile playing on her features. She was trying to get him too relax, and to be comfortable, which although hewasn't showing, she could tell her wasn't.
