[ hitting the town ]

Chase parked his motor bike in the parking lot outside the mall. It was
a fairly secluded spot, so he didn’t mind leaving his helmet on the bike while he was
away. He put it on the seat, and then set off towards the mall. It was around 10am as he
got into the mall, and then set off around the building. Chase decided to check out the
music store first, and found his way to it soon enough. A few girls in a café smiled at him
as he passed, and he returned it, making them blush and giggle.

Chase walked into the store, and began browsing the shelves of music, running a hand
through his black hair, silvery eyes searching the artists names. He wore a simple black
hoodie, beneath that was a charcoal grey t-shirt with the 'bleeding hearts' sign on it in
black. He also wore a pair of dark torn jeans and his old vans. It was no surprise to find
him in the particular music genre isle, looking at various music artists like Mindless
Self Indulgence, Linkin Park, White Stripes, KoRn and System of a Down. He
crouched down momentarily to study a Breaking Benjamin CD case, and flipped it
over to look at the songs listed on the back of it.

Lara pulled up outside the mall, putting her car into neutral and pulling the keys out of the ignition. They jangled annoyingly as she stuffed them into her black rucksack. She always carried the same backpack; it was small enough to not look too weird, but it did look a little odd considering all the other girls carried handbags. Still, she climbed out of the car and crossed the parking lot quickly, escpaing into the slightly-warmer interior of the mall. Today, she wore a black and grey striped top with a little black heart in the top left corner, black jeans, her usual worn converses and a black jacket. In her hair she wore a black and grey alice band. The boots she wore over her jeans had silver buckles and big heels, since she's pretty small. She made her way straight to the music store. She didn't often come shopping, but when she did she always bought music. Right now she was looking for the new Fightstar album, and so she made straight for the rock/metal aisle. There, she found another guy. By his clothes she could tell he was into the same sort of music as her. Surprised to find someone else here at this time, she hurriiedly picked up a random Evanescence album and proceeded to pretend to read the back while watching the boy out of the corner of her eye. If only he wasn't standing so near the Fightstar collection.

Chase didn’t really take much notice of the person who walked past him, but when he did
he was very much surprised to find that someone else was in this isle. He shrugged
inwardly and replaced the CD on the rack, looking at the others on the same level, after a
short while it became apparent to Chase that the girl was watching him for some reason.
The boy became uncomfortable under her penetrating grey gaze, and then realized maybe
he was blocking her way to a CD she wanted. He stood up, flustered ''Oh, sorry'' he
said apologetically and, walked down the isle on the opposite side. Wondering whether
she was still glancing at him out of the corner of her eye.

Lara jumped; he had known? And she had thought she was being so subtle. Gosh, she was always putting her foot in it. Now, with his cute, guilty face watching her, she felt like a complete idiot. Ah well, it was her own fault, wasn't it? It in the few moment she'd been watching him, she'd decided that he was definitely an interesting character. She shook her head and smiled apologetically."Don't sweat it,"she replied breathlessy, shoving down the CD she was holding and darting pick up the Fightstar one. Turning she waved it almost triumphantly."There's the little devil," she said decisively, admiring the front cover. Then, slightyl awkwardly, she ran a hand over her hair, not sure whether the guy wanted her to start a conversation or not. She bit her lip and turned away slightly. If he caught her staring at her again, he'd probably think she was some freaky fangirl or something.

He nodded as she spoke and cast his blue eyes away back to the rack and pulled out a
Switchfoot and Maximum The Hormone CD. He'd been looking for these for a while, at
last they were in stock! Chase turned to see that the girl had gotten what she had been
looking for. He decided he’d go and pay for these CD's now. As he was walking past he
noticed she was holding a Fightstar CD and his expression lifted, he felt slightly awkward
for a second.'Oh damn, what have I got to lose?' he asked himself silently and then
approached slowly, trying not to appear threatening.''Hey, you like Fightstar as
well?'' he said, a friendly grin appearing on his lightly stubbled face. Unlike some
guys his age, he wasn’t smooth skinned at all, but he didn’t exactly have a beard going

Lara was mildly surprised when he actually spoke to her again, but relieved in a strange sort of way. She cared too much was other people thought of her, meaning she hated the thought that other people didn't get her, or thought she was strange. So, when he spoke, she turned a little too quickly, and almost fell into the CD stand. Righting herself, she saw his smile and felt her stomach jump. He really did have a nice smile. She returned it a little uncertainly, then concentrated on answering."They're one of my favourites," she replied conversationally,"Although Busted were a legend." She laughed; Busted had used to be her favourite band, when she was a kid. She ran her free hand through her hair."Are you looking for anything in particular?"

''Oh, just these two'' Chase said, holding up the two cases in his hand. Most people had never heard of MTH, well they were a Japanese band, but their songs were pretty good.She’s cute.. he thought when he took a glance at her. But shook those thoughts out of his mind when his cheeks flushed with colour, to save himself of an awkward silence.''What other bands d'you like?
