He had taken off a while ago because life was just too hard for him to handle. It was true he had an amazing thing worked ot for him here, but he just constantly continued to feel as if he was a burden. And as if he didn't belong. And it wasn't fair to anyone, including Sam and Jake. They had done nothing but be nice to him, and he felt ungrateful every day of his good for nothing life. And he hadn't wanted to be that person anymore. He had wanted to start over, to find a new life. But the new life he had found in running away was worse than he could have ever imagined. He had thought it would have been amazing to be on his own once more, and just be himself without any worries. But he found that it had only left him homesick and heartbroken. He had stayed away for more than a year though, for he thought he was doing what was best for Sam and Jake and the rest of the family. But it wasn't what was best for him. He had missed them all terribly, including Charlie. He dind't know if they even still had her after his disappearance. She would have made a nice horse for them though, so he just didn't know. But one day, he had decided enough was enough. He was done running, and done being alone. So he hitchhiked all the way back here, and was now walking along the dusty road with his familiar old backpack slung over his shoulder. His pace was tired, and he carried a slight limp because of the fake leg he had been given after one of his run ins with his father. But he was taller, and more filled out. He was still as skinny as a rail, but there was something else about him. Something different.
His eyes looked up the long driveway of the ranch that he had called his home for a while, and he remembered back to the frst night he had been discovered. He had been pretty scared, for Sam had held a pitchfork high above him in warning when she discovered him in the hayloft. He was a mess then. Stubborn and insolent...dirty and thin. And more than anything else, afraid and alone. He had been using the hayloft as a place to sleep, but it turned out Sam hadn't been too happy about that. But after that incident, she had taken him in, and he couldn't be more thankful. It had just taken him a while to realize that. Sighing softly now, he looked down at his clothes. They were the nicest pair he owned, for he wanted to make a good impression. He wore a simple pair of blue jeans that actually fit him, along with a nice bark blue tee shirt that clung a little to his skinny torso. His hair was still the dirty blonde it had always been, still the same length, but messier than before. His eyes had a slight light to them, but no one could be sure why it was there. He took a deep breath as he approached the steps to the house, and held it even when he knocked loudly upon the door. He let it out slowly as he waited for an answer, if there was going to be one at all. But, Aidan was back, even if they didn't accept him after all of this time.
