Melanie knew Charley needed to go to the vet anyway, he was probably past due. But with all of this moving and everything, it had been too difficult to find a vet for him to go to. The golden retriever sat quietly in the front seat, looking out the window in excitement. She pulled up to the clinic, her truck stopping instantly. She grabbed his leash and clipped it on him, then stepped out of the vehicle. He followed out after her, his ears perked forward happily. She knew the vet probably wouldn't take him now, but she didn't want to leave him in the car alone. She walked into the clinic, opening the door for the young dog and then stopping a tthe counter. She waited patiently, for she wanted to talk to the vet about the stable and everything else.

A young guy sat behind the counter, reading some trick riding magazine. Looking up, he saw the girl and rolled over to a door that was open."SAM! Customer," he bellowed and rolled the chair back to his spot an went back to reading. Sam came out, hands on her hips, and glared at the guy."Josh, learn to talk to people," she growled and looked back at Melanie, a smile on her face."Hello. Please excuse my cousin. Can I help you?" Josh made a face at Sam's back and went back to his reading.

SHe jumped slightly when the guy yelled, and Charley whined in curiosity. He wanted to explore, not sit by Melanie's side. But he would be good and stay. She looked at the guy in confusion and then saw the girl come in. As she spoke to her cousin, Mel offered her a smile as she turned to her. It's fine..don't worry about it. She was an easygoing person so she wasn't easily put off. Hearing Sam's words, she looked down at Charley, who now jumped up, putting his front paws on the counter. Melanie smiled apologetically and pulled him down gently, making him sit with her look. She gazed back over at Sam.Yeah...I'm Melanie Davidson. I was wondering if maybe I could make an appointment for Charley..my dog. And then I was also wondering if you would possibly vet my horses. I just bought the new racing stable..and I need a vet. But if it's too much...I mean... She said hurriedly, wanting to get it all out.

Sam smiled softly."You can bring him to my checkup room and we can do teh checkup now. When thats done, Josh can make an appointment for me to look over youor racers," Sam said. Two dogs looked over from the couch, one resting his chin on the arm and the other resting his chin on the other dog. Sam gave the dogs the evil eye and motioned Melanie to follow her.

She listened quietly and nodded. Charley was very interested in the other two dogs, and a few whines came from him, his tail wagging softly. She quieted him and then followed Sam into the examination room. Charley went willingly, since the golden retriever didn't think he had anything to fear. Melanie brought him in and patted his head, telling him he was a good boy. Charley was panting from excitement, and she waited for Sam to start.

Sam picked Charley up with ease and set him on teh table, checking him over: down teh mouth, in the eyes, up his nose, in his ears, felt his legs an dlistened to his heart. All was fine. Sam got his shots ready, rubbing a spot with alchol where she would stick him. This shouldn't hurt him much, she siad, poking him and administering the shots.
((I am trying a new way of meh charries talking))
