The dirty blonde haired boy walked along carefully, his pack sling across his shoulders. He was dirty and his clothes were tattered, but he couldn't help. They hung loosely from his too thin frame, and it seemed he was too short for his age. But that was just him. He was skinny and short, and he weighed about 90 pounds. He knew he wasn't supposed to be here, but he couldn't help it. He needed to see another horse, he needed to. He couldn't live anymore without them. He snuck into the stable, since it was late at night. He could probably sleep in the hayloft and be up and out before anyone even knew. He pulled open the barn door a bit and slipped it, then closed it shut, making sure it latched once more. Ducking in, he let his eyes adjust to the darkness before stepping forward. He was greeted with nickers and neighs and he stopped at the first stall to pet the horse. His movements were slow and well seen by the equine and he was soon strokig its nose. He gave it one last pat before finding the ladder to the hayloft. He found it, but tripped over one of the buckets in the aisle way. He landed on his shoulder, rolling away and making too much nose. He scurried up the ladder and hid behind some hay, his heart beating fast, and he himself praying no one would find him.

Several horses began to whinny and one screamed, rearing up. THe horse in the first stall snorted, tossing her head. Did the boy dare to touch her? If he was here, she would have bit him. Three dogs barreled into teh stable, followed by a woman wearing jeans and a tanktop. Looking around, she held a pistol. There were people sneaking into her stable trying to steal horses lately and she was ready. One of the dogs, a female, stopped at the hay mound ladder and barkeed, drawing the others to her.

Aidan heard the dogs and inwardly groaned. He brought his knees up to his chest and then slid back behind more hay, hoping the owner didn't find him. As he heard one of the dogs barking at the ladder, he looked around, trying find a better hiding spot. But this was it. He sighed and leaned back against the bale, waiting. The owner wouldn't be able to see him directly from the ladder, but if the person searched, he would be discovered.

Sam scurried up teh ladder, carrying a small white dog. Setting her down, Sam rubbed her ears."Come on Linny. Find him," she siad softly and the dog began to sniff. Around bales and under hay, she soon turned yellow and brown from the loose dust on teh ground. A young boy hurried into the barn, calming down his beloved horses. The one rearing finally calmed down and he gave her a carrot bit. Linny caught the boy's scent and she found him, yipping shrillly.

Aidan heard the woman's voice, and then a dog. Oh great..he was done for now. As he heard the dog scurrying over to him, he quickly aimed his foot i nthe direction. He wouldn't kick the dog, never. But if it attacked him, he would defend himself. As it came over, he looked at it as it barked, not stopping.Sh.ut up already. SHe knows you found me. He said under his breath. He waited for the owner to come up, and he would defend himself there to. He didn't want a home, and he definitely didn't want anyone turning him into the cops. He looked horrible, gaunt and boney, but that's what he got from wandering the streets. And he probably didn't smell to pretty either. But he didn't care. He was alive for now...

Sam looked at the boy, blinking. He didn't look like someone who would want to steal a horse. Hand son her hips, she eyed teh boy."And what are you doing here?" she asked, tucking her pistol into her pants. The young boy scurried up the ladder and peered at the kid from behind Sam, his eyes wide. The horses were clamed down and the dogs stood at any exit, ready to defend their home. But Linny hoppe dinto teh boy's lap and began to lick his face, her tail fanning the air.

He looked up through the hair that hung in his green blue eyes, eyeing the owner warily. He heard her question, he responded, his tone guarded and careful.Relax lady. I was gonna sleep and leave. He said and was about to stand, but then the dog jumped into his lap, licking his face. He gently pushed her away, straightening. He stepped to the side of her and started for the ladder, looking at the other boy with wary too. He didn't trust anyone, and that was obviously seen. He was going to get out of here though.

The Irish Woldhound, Lady, snarled adn bounded towards teh ladder, vaulting. Her paws grabbed the middled rings and she scrambled up, standing before the exit with snarling fangs. Sam leane dback, touching her pistol."Better not buddy. She will rip your throat out," she siad casually. She could too. Her head was level with his beast bone.

Aidan hurriedly backed up a step, almost knocking into the obvious owner. He scurried away from her only to meet the fangs of the dog again. He was frustrated, and the dog was not helping his situation. He looked back at her, obviously bewildered. Then what do you suppose I do? I'm trying to leave so you can have your peace again..but this dog isn't allowing that. He said to her, his tone rising a bit. He was scared now. He didn't want to go to the police, they scared him even more. The fear was evident in his eyes, and it wasn't because of Lady. He waited for her reply.

Duke snorted, eyes up towards teh hayloft. His hackles were raised slightly as he watched. Lady snapped at him and Sam snapped her fingers, Lady's expression softening and fianlly relaxing. Walking over, Sma kneeled down by Lady, rubbing her ears."I want to know why you are up here. It would be smarter to hide in a stall then when someone came in, you could hide in there and then bolt when they went by," Sam said casually. She didn't want to scare teh boy anymore than he was. Looking over at him, she frowned softly."Why are you scared?" The younger boy hopped over Lady and scurried down teh ladder like a rat, sitting at the base of it and looking up.

As the dog started growling once more, he backed up, careful not to run into anyone this time. He suddenly saw her cease a tthe snap of a finger and he looked back at the woman, confused. She seemed like she wanted her dog to kill him...but that was just Aidan. Hearing her words, he shrugged.I didn't bother looking for an empty one..and I didn't think I'd trip over the dam.n bucket in the aisleway. He said, indicating he would have slipped out in the morning if he hadn't caused so much noise. Hearing her nexy question, he instantly tensed, not knowing what to do. No one had asked him that before, simply because he'd usually would be running long before now. He looked away from her.You wouldn't understand.
