 Sam led a older horse into the arena. The horse, named Bud, was a great horse for a little kid to ride. And speakof the devil, Alex barreled in, laughing. She saw her mother and the horse and decided to run over. Bud stood there calmly as Alex wiggled through his legs to get at her mom. The bright chestnut was sued to wiggling and screaming kids. Sam laaghed for abit, then scolded her youngester lightly about how to act around a horse. Alex merely gave Sam a mischevoius grin and her heart melted. Ok honey, lets mount up, Sam said, picking Alex up and plopping her on the old paint's back. Bud looked back at her mildly as she wiggled around and situated herself. A bomb could go off next to this boy and he wouldn't twitch. Alex looked around, her eyes worried. Momma, is Papa coming to watch me? she asked, her eyes pleading. Sam smiled sweetly and patted Alex's knee. Don't worry. He will be here. Let's warm old Bud up before he does, Sam suggested and the little girl squeled happily. Reins in hand, Alex told Bud to walk and he did. The best thing about Bud was that he listened to voice commands and neck reined. He was a perfect little kid horse. No going over a light lope unless there was a older and heavier person on HIS back. Alex was his baby.  |

 A smile spread across Jake's face as he meandered into the arena-type barn. His scuffed and worn boots skittered against the graying concrete floor, his feet dropped onto the floor, but the skittering wasn't from his boots. A little Shar-Pei mixed with what looked like a Golden Retreiver. He turned around and picked up the puppy, he held it close so he wouldn't bark at the older gelding. Jake walked to his daughter and wife, but his daughter was already walking the old Chestnut Pinto. The puppy whined and scratched at Jake's arms, he turned to Sam. Hey...erm...he kinda jumped from the ditch and followed me here.He explained to Sam. |

Sam raised an eyebrow at her husband, hiding a small smile.How many more dogs are going to be drug here? she asked in a teasing voice. They kept all of Lady's pups and Iris was due in a month or two. Alex concentrated on riding but couldn't resist glancing over at her mom and dad. Her bright eyes were filled with a mischevous and trouble maker gleam.
PPUUUUUUUUUUPPPPPPYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!! Alex squeled when she saw the pup and clapped her hand over her mouth, eyes wide. That was a no-no. But Bud merely stopped and looked around in a lazy way. He spotted Jake and meandered over.
