Patrick lead the horse up. He had saddled the mare easily without trouble. He put his helmet on knowing he had to excersize the mare. He easily lowered the stirrups. Then mounted without needing a mounting block.

Lilith came down the path to the stable, she spotted the boy riding Belle and smiled. Lilith hadn’t been here long, but she had settled in nicely to stable life. She went into the arena and set up some jumps off the track around the outside of the arena, and then walked back to the stable. She reappeared a few minutes later with her mare, Rose. She mounted her off the school fence and then adjusted her stirrup length and tightened her girth. Then, placing equal pressure on both reins, set off around the outside track at a walk.

Patrick put Belle into a walk. He hadn't noticed the girl on her horse yet. But when he did he grinned a bit. He then focused on working the horse he was on. He moved the horse into a trot. He easily posted it and then did the sitting trot. He was gald to be working with horses again. But would have more fun on his stallion. But he needed the job.

Closing the gate behind him, Joe led Jack in by a walk. He had mounted outside the areana, so as not to get in the way of the other horses. A girl riding a mare passed him on the outside track. He clicked Jack into a walk, and started on a twenty metre circle. As he watched his gelding's eyes fick longingly to the cross country course in the distance, he laughed to himself. He passed another person riding a mare, this was when he began to ride around the whole arena. He nudged Jack into a controlled trot. Transitions were the best thing to start with. He watched as the horse's choulders moved back and forth, trying to get in time with him, as he rose from the saddle and sat back into it. He began to think about exploring the cross counrt course later, when he realized he had lost track of his pace, and was now directly behind the girl on the mare. He moved out from the track slightly and slowed to a walk as he pulled up alongside of the mare. He smiled and thought it best to try and get to know people at the stables. He spoke up and directed his words to the girl:Hi though his words were simple, he found unusuall shyness creeping over him. Just like when he had been younger, and people had laughed at him for riding horses. Excluding a few close friends such as Kai, and maybe Charlie.

Lilith kept the mare walking on but allowed her a bit more rein as they moved. She noticed the other guy come in, and watched him. Was that Joe? The co-owner? Lilith hadn’t been here long, only a few days in fact. But she had been welcomed with open arms when she arrived, since she knew Emilie Black and Charlie, and through them, Kai. ''Hey, your Joe right?'' she asked, not shy at all. She beamed brightly, her friendly personality kicking in.

He relaxed slightly and said:Yeah, I'm afraid I don't know you sorry. He smiled and looked at her. He had had to sort things out with his cousn for a few days, so hadn't been around much. He kept pace with the mare, and could feel Jack relaxing slightly aswell. As he slackened the reigns and let the gelding stretch his neck he looked back to the stranger, and gave her a questioning look, as if asking her a silent question, such as her name. For she obviously knew his, he thought it odd to continue the conversation without knowing her name.

''Oh, my name is Lilith, Lilith Johnson'' she said, her features still holding that smile and her voice lined with a Scottish accent, one she had had for a number of years. She took a moment to adjust the helmet strap under her chin, before starting off at a trot. She would have time to talk later, now she needed to get her mare working. She collected her reins and started doing transitions varying from canter to trot, canter to walk, walk to canter, walk to trot and so on. When her mares strides no longer felt stiff, she cantered her in a twenty meter circle, and headed for a jump she had set up earlier, a 2'6 straight pole. Rose's ears perked up as they approached, and her breath quickened and came in short sharp snorts. Lilith kept rein contact as they neared, and counted her strides One, two, three..' she counted the last stride and felt the bay mare lift off from the ground, tucking her legs beneath her as she went, and Lilith corrected her position as the pair landed, and gave her mare a pat as they continued canter along the inside track so as not to crash into anyone.

Patrick moved Belle into a canter. He moved the mare toward the jumps along the outside. He leaned forward took some mane in his hands then pulled back a bit. Once on the other side he patted the mare's neck. They slowed back down to a trot and went on the inside of the ring again.

Continuing around the track, Joe turned Jack into a few more tight cirles, then let him break into a trot. He reigned Jack in and set off at a slow canter, still moving around the outside. Adjusting himself to the pace of the horse, he sat tight in the saddle, and nudged the gelding forward. As he turned into the centre line, turned in yet another circle to wait for the other rider to clear the jump. When they had done so, he clicked and the horse's pace quickened, letting the reigns slip through his fingers for a moment, only to grab them again before he lost controll. As Jack's stride lengthened, he smiled as the jump became nearer and nearer. Just before he was about to clear the jump, he leant forward and felt himself land on the other side. Turning Jack onto the opposite reign, he gently tugged at the bit with either hand.Feeling his horse's neck fold into an arch, he slowed Jack into a steady trot, then finally to a walk. He patted the gelding's neck appreciatively and continued around the areana, but staying on a twenty metre circle.

Unlike the other two she kept Rose at a canter, although collecting it slightly, she had watched the bay gelding go over the jump, and it was plain that from his long strides he was more accustomed to cross country, like Kai's horse. Giving the mare a nudge she turned at the next long diagonal to a 3'2 straight pole, and approached in the same bouncy stride, the mare jumped neatly over the obstacle, and then Lilith counted the three strides between the next 3'2 jump. Once they landed on the other side, she changed the rein in the next corner, her mare changing legs automatically. Next they went over a 4’0 double, Lilith speaking softly to her mare as they approached and patting her when the were over. Rose snorted loudly, her ears pricked. A light sweat working itself up on her girth and martingale. Lilith collected her strides again ready for the other jump, and she went into light seat as the mare rose of the ground. When they landed, Lilith turned the mare in a twenty meter circle, and approached a 3'0 spread, her mare swerved a bit as they approached, spooking at the brightly coloured fillers, but Lilith corrected her in time to jump and land safely. She changed the rein again, and this time slowed to a working trot, continuing for a lap of the arena and then slowing to a walk on a loose rein to cool her off.

[ooc - So will she actually talk to him this time and be a good wittwle angel? lol] He sped up his Jack's walk, by nudging him slightly in the sides. He was now level with Lilith again. He smiled at her. All sense of shyness had dissaparated by now. He was back to himself. He greeting had made him somewhat bolder in talking to her now. And he no longer worried about stupid things as he had done at a young age. He asked pointedly, but not rudely: Do you mind me calling you Lily? He smiled, It was easier than saying Lilith. He laughed inwardly at his laziness. He wondered if she wanted to come with him onto the cross counrty course later. He was supposed to be exercising Izzi later. He thought he would try her over the course. For he hadn't had a chance to try it out himself. He ddin't ask Lilith, because he wasn't sure if she would be busy or not.Maybe if the converstaion propelled onwards then he would find out if she was doing anything.

She patted her mares damp neck, and then looked up abruptly as she heard someone speaking to her. Turning her head, Lilith spotted the man who had been riding the gelding.''Yeah, that’s fine. My name is a bit of a mouthful'' she said and laughed lightly, hazel and green pair of eyes trained on the man.''Is your horse trained for cross-country? Its just his strides are kinda long for a Show Jumper'' she asked, not holding back any questions she had, a curious smile on her soft rosy lips and a brow raised in anticipation of Joe’s answer.

He smiled and patted Jack's neck. He replied:Yeah, I don't do much show-jumping with him. He smiled at Lily. Then wondered whether it would be the right time to ask if she wanted to go over the course together later. kai had said that hewas okay to do so, so why shouldn't he take Lily with him? He asked: Do you want to come out onto the cross-country course later? He paused then added With me? He waited to see if she would. He liked the idea of getting to know people at the stables. It made him feel more sociable than he had # been. Meeting Kai again had raised his spirits slightly, and he was pleased with his new occupation. He had two other horses that he was responsible for looking after, exercising, etc. He thought he would be able to manage them. Grooming and riding didn't seem that hard. But then again, three horses was not one as he had been used to for the past few years. But he had convinced himself that he was up to the job. Coming back to the present, he waited until Lily replied, with her answer Which hopefully would be a yes. [ooc - I stole your Idea of making the text fatter...Mwahahahaah...*cough* lol]

He listened to what Jowell told her, it was obvious from the way his gelding 'attacked' his jumps that he was used to the perils and joys of cross-country. Lilith wasn’t a fan of cross-country, especially with all the dodgy angles your horse was force to jump at. It was true that more horses walked away injured or not at all from the endurance course. Still, if you were careful and played your cards right, you stood a chance of both winning and coming out alive. In show jumping, it wasn’t the course that got you under pressure, it was the audience watching your every move and fault you made instead.''Okay, that'd help actually, I need to take my colt out there today-'' she spoke smoothly, referring to Ace, her new colt who she was training more or less from scratch but with help from Kai of course.''- Rose here isn’t really built for cross country, but she’s a nice little jumper'' she said warmly and patted her mare. She circled and jumped down off her horse, loosening the girth and running up the stirrup irons.''I'll need to go wash Rose off first though'' Lilith said, removing her helmet and tucking it under her arm, brushing her fingertips through her gleaming brunette locks before starting towards the arena exit, leading her mare by the reins.

He smiled and nodded as he looked down at the back of Jack's head. He thought about how ridiculous he must look going over the jumps. He felts his cheeks turn a pale shade of pink. Then he nodded and said:Yeah, she looks like a great jumper. He had watched the mare neatly hop over the 4'0 jump and had been impressed by Lily's position, and by the style of the jump. Also by the horse itself. The mare was a dainty little thing. Judging by his small amount of knowledege, the horse was called Rose. He looked forward to going over the cross-country course later. As he neared the gate, he glanced back at Lily. He wondered whether she was going to head in too. He said:I guess Ill see you on the course then? He opened the gate and nudged Jack through it. He waited on the other side for a moment until she clarified the meeting placeHe went to the stable black and decided to wash Jack down..
