It took Jess a few minutes to find a couple carrots, an apple, and a couple sugar lumps for his horse. He walked back, and gave an inquiring look that asked if it was ok to feed the horse.

Harriet understood his question and nodded. That stuff's up to you now, you adjust feeds, rugging etc as nessecary, and feed as you feel needed! She said quietly.
Sampson eyed the treats, almost suspiciously.

Jess nodded and turned back to the horse. He knew that he wouldn't be able to feed him out of his hand yet so he got as close as he dared and put the a carrot, an apple and a sugar cube down for him.

Sampson sniffed them. After a moment and a glance back to see that it wasn't a trick by Jess, he bit the sugar cube and pulled away. Then, slowly, he returned and bit the apple. But he struggled as he pushed it down so snuffled to grab the carrot instead, pulling away again.

Jess backed a couple paces toward the pasture where Sampson was going. He placed an apple and stepped back. Harriet, Jess said in a whisper never taking his eyes off Sampson, Can you tell me why he's here?

Harriet bowed her head. We don't know her history, but she was found in a muddy cramped yard and we were sent in to take him on. He was alot skinnier and his hooves were bad, coat matted, when we found him, but thats getting better. He's just afriad of people and especially whips. Though, in saying that, he's not so much agressive unless he's 'attacked' with a whip, more withdrawn.

Sampson bolted out of the door, happy that it was time to go. He nuzzled the apple on the ground, rolling it with i=his muzzle, undable to bite it before it rolled away.
Harriet nodded, and walked away, bringing back a thin dressage whip.

Jess held it for a moment not using it just holding it. I'm going to carry this around Sampson for a while. Then he'll get used to me and the whip. I won't use it on him, of course but he needs to be shown not every human with a whip will hurt him. What do you think?

Well, your working for now with Marrechi, our first stallion! Who youve met and Liberty. Shes three, and needs training ridden and on the ground. Shes a nice nature though. Hasn't yet been backed. Marrechi has, but only has had 30 days of riding He needs training. Liberty's down here. She gestured down to a nearby yard holding a small palomino horse.
