Melanie walked in. Charlie needed a companion, and she wouldn't mind having another dog on the big property. She smiled sweetly when her eyes landed on Jenny, and she knew that she wanted to take her home. And looking over, she saw the small ferret...named Beanie. She had to take her home as well..there was no way she could elave her. She waited for the person that would sell them. |

A young, blonde lady walked through the pens, feeding the animals. Beanie wiggled in her little box, curled up with blankets bunched up to make sides. Eating her food, Jenny looked up, her eyes bright. Even for an abandoned pet, she loved people.

She smiled as Beanie wiggled around, but didn't want to disturb her yet. Seeing Jenny's bright eyes, she crouched down and looked at her with a gentle smile.Hi Jenny...would you like a new home? One where you would never be ignored? She asked more to herself then anyone else. SHe hated it when pets were abandoned, more then anything else in the world. Looking up, she noticed the young blonde woman. She stood slowly, and then spoke out softly.Excuse me? |

The woman jumped, looking behind her."Oh hi!" she set the food bucket down, walking over."Can I help you?" she asked. She wore a Progressive shirt and had a name tag that said, April, Humane Society Worker.

She cringed as the woman jumped, and she instantly felt guilty.I'm sorry. She said about making her jump and then offered her a smile. Hearing her question, she nodded gently.I'm Melanie Thompson...from Grand Stable. I was just wondering if I could adopt two of the animals here? |

April walked over to Jenny's pen, rubbing her ears."I think so. Or mayeb not. We jsut bring animals here to shwo off," she said jokingly. Opening the pen, she let Jenny come out and sniffed the girl. As Jenny sniffed her legs, April went to Beanie's cage and picked her up, the little one wiggling softly in ehr warm hands.

At first she didn't know how to react, but then she caught the joking tone. She smiled and then nodded.Yeah..stupid question... She admitted softly and then looked over as Jenny was let out. She offered her hand to the dog, and then looked over as Beanie was brought out. She wanted to take all of the animals out of here, but these two seemed to catch her heart the most. |

April smiled gently."Jenny likes you and Beanie doesn't care who takes her as long as they feed her and cuddle her," she said, offering Melanie Beanie to hold. Jenny walked around Melanie and finally sat at her right side, looking up at her with her head tilted to aside.

She looked down as the dog circled around her and then sat at her side. before she took Beanie, she laid a hand on Jenny's head and stroked her softly before smiling and looking up.Well..I like her too..and I know I'll grow to love her..since I pretty much already do. She offered and then gently took hold of Beanie, careful not to hurt the small, fragile form. She smiled and looked up.I'll have no problem feeding and cuddling her. |

April smiled softly, feelin ghappy someone might take them home."Beanie was found in a stable house after the people split. The cops are on them now," April said with a shrug."I would be with them going after the owners but I have to care for the animals," she said with a small smile. Jenny yipped softly and Beanie opened a small, brown eye.

Melanie shook her head softly, with a hint of fury etched in her eyes.I don't know how a person could abandon any animal. It's just not right. She said thoughtfully. She looked down when Jenny yipped and adjusted Beanie so that she could reach down and pat her head once more. Seeing Beanie's eye open, she smiled and then looked back at April.Is there a special feeding schedule she is on? I really would like to take these two home... |

If she grows fussy during the day, give her a little bit," she said, pulling out a tiny bottle, bag of replacement milk, and a How to care for a Baby Ferret booklet."Also, after seh eats, it good to rub her belly to help its digest some. The rest of her care is in here," she tapped the booklet."Now you wnat both, right?" ask April, making sure.

She listened softly while stroking Beanie's tiny head gently. She made a mental note and nodded after each pause that April took when she was speaking. At her question, Melanie nodded excitedly.Yeah..I want both. I would take them all..but I think Charlie might get jealous...Is she good with other dogs? SHe had forgotten to ask about that part. Charlie was a golden retriever, so he was good with any type of animal. He loved other dogs, and she was here to find him a friend as well. Which she hoped Jenny would be. She waited for the reply. |
