Marlie sat on her bed, wondering where the blood hound had gotten to. She looked out her second story window.

The wind, the rain,
It sings, it's sane,
Unlike my horrible life,
My mom my dad, husband and wife.

They went in the car,
They weren't going that far,
On a rainy night,
After the crash, they lost the fight.

I told them it was okay to go,
I never thought I'd feel so low,
I stayed with Grandpop and Grandma,
La La La La.

I wish it never happened. Tears streamed down the young teen's face.

A dog sat at the corner, its ears perked. A mournful howl came fom it, looking up at Marlie's window. A nun came out and tried to shoo the hound away but she merely snarled, sending the woman back in, her robes flapping. An older nun laughed at her and sent her away to teh toddler section before walking out, hands on her hips.Now see here hound. The Lord ahs sent you as an angel so you must act like one, she scolded. The hound spotted two trouble makers keeping teh door open, giggling behidn their hands. Quick as a flash, teh hound bolted in, snifffing around anxtiously. People screamed adn kids laughed, clapping their hands. But teh hound ignored them, scurrying up teh stiars as several nuns went after her with brooms and other things.

Marlie had her door open, she let the hound in, slamming the door and locking it.Searcher? Is that really you girl? She asked excitedly!

THe hound sat down and looked at her mournfully, blinking slowly. Her tail thumped softly on the floor and a nun went to teh door, knocking hard on it. It was teh older nun.Young Marlie? Have you seen a dog? she asked through the door, tapping her foot. SHe was testing her for lying.

Yes Sister. She said. She wouldn't tell on Searcher...maybe.Shes.....she's in here Sister. She said un-locking the door for the nun.

Sistyer Rose walked in, looking at the hound then the girl.Marlie, why is that dog in here? Or, most importantly, why does teh dog want to be in here? she asked amused.You think she would want to be in the kitchen, she said smoothly.

When I was lost.....In the woods.....she came and stayed with me. She sighed.

Sister Rose stroked the hound's ears, smiling softly. The hound looked up at her and snorted, slopping onto the floor with a sleepy sigh.You may not know.. But I used to raised Coonhounds as a young woman, she said, looking at the hound.She is very lovely, almsot like a angel lost from heaven.

Marlie smiled, knowing what the nun meant.I didn't know that sister. She's my only friend.....well....since the accident.....of course you Sisters are my friends too....it's just.............the coonhound.....er...Searcher and I have a connection. She said with a sigh.

Sister Rose smiled softly and stood up, dusting off her robe.Well, she is a good hound and doesn't seem to be reacting dangerously to any of the other children. WOuld you like her to stay with you? she asked.Otherwise she can go oout back or in teh kitchen. The hound glared up at the nun and yawned, getting up to jump on Marlie's bed.

Marlie's lips cruved into a wide smile.REALLY SISTER?! She excitedly asked.That'd be WONDERFUL! She said smiling bigger than ever.

Sister Rose smiled softly and straightened up, looking more stren.Now, no accidents and she must eat in teh kitchen, not in the dining room to beg, got it? she demanded, hands on her hips.

Sister Rose smiled softly and nodded, leaving the room. Before she left, she looked back at Marlie.Don't forget to pray morning and night. And super will be ready in awhile, she said and left, heading down the halll to break up a fight.

Marlie smiled softly, jumping up on the bed with Searcher, she stroked the dog's head, turning on her T.V. she started watching cartoons.
