Kayla was chrushed by the story looking sympathetically at the unappropriatly excited dog. She patted him.
Aww poor Peral....
She paused for a moment, not quite sure how to put this to Miranda, but she had to bring it up.
Miranda, did you say you had alot of dogs and...... horses?
She concentrated on looking at Peral, but stole a quick glace at her.

Miranda smiled softly.Yes but they aren't all mine. Most belong to my best friend, Alyssa, who owns the stable I stay at, she said with a soft smile. She looked back at the trailer, thinking for a second.I am going to the sale arena after here. Do you want to come with? She looked at Kayla, eyes kind.

Raising her head to look Miranda in the eyes. She paused for a moment, quickly glancing back at the Adoption Agency that she had called home for so long, where a nun was watching them from the doorway, apparently annoyed that Kayla had gone outside. She grinned as she looked back at Miranda, not caring what the nun throught. She nodded
Could I? That would be great!

Miranda smiled softly.Do you want to come back here afterwards or stay with me at my house? Its not as nive as living with your real parents but I might be just as good, she said with a slight smile. Pearl barked, wiggling her rump, and ran over to the doorway, barking at Father Andrew. He smiled and scratched the dog's ears.

You mean.... be adopted? Are you kidding?! I would love to! My parrents.... well I'd rather live with you! he grinned, be paused at the mention of her parents. She wasn't ready yet, but one day she would tell Miranda about her parents and past. But for now, Kayla just wanted to leave that horrible place where she had lived for so long. She was ready for a new life, new start, new home and a new adventure!

Miranda smiled and looked at teh priest that walked over.Hello Father Andrew. Do you think, Ah! Thankyou Father, she said, taking Kayla's adoption papers. The priest gave a grin.I am not that dense to see you coming here with the Lady's grace in your eyes, he rumbled, smiling at Kayla and rubbing Pearl's side.Child, you are going to a wonderful home and family. Say hi Dingbat for me, he said to her while Miranda signed the papers.

Kayla, who had never seen this preist before, as she had been with the younger girls with the nuns, was startled when he ruffeled her hair. Kayla looked at the adoption papers, knowing that she was finally going to a home. She smiled at the very thought.

Miranda handed Father the papesr and he took them, grinning slightly.You both take care. Sister Rose says bye and don't come back, he said teasingly. Miranda rolled her eyes and smiled at Kayla as he walked away.Shall we head to the sales arena? she asked, opening the truck door to let Pearl hop in.

Kayla laughed lightly, and jumped into the car after Peral, nodding.
Are we going to the horse, auction or other animal sales area?
She inquired, as she hadn't quiteunderstood. She patted Peral.

Miranda started up the truck and drove down the road, letting it rumble.There is a horse sale going on wit the Crickle Woods Stable horses so we will go there first, she said. rolling down the window so Pearl could stick her head out the window.

Alrighty!
She laughed lightly, grinning.
After a pause while looking out the window, Kayla turned to Miranda, but let her mocha gaze rest on the floor.
Hey Miranda,
She paused again, then lookied up into Miranda's eyes.
Thankyou.
She held her gaze for a while then turned to watch out the window again.

Miranda looked at Kayla, smiling softly, and turned her gaze back to the road. Pearl laid between them, plopping her head promptly into Kayla's lap and falling asleep.

Kayla smiled and gently but somewhat absent-mindedly stroked Perals soft head. She stared out the window as they drove off.
