The ranch was up in arms. Lady was missing and she was pregent. She wasn't in the arena, the house, near the cattle, or the other barns. Sam looked in this barn, worried. Josh had gone looking on teh ranch trails and Jay and gone looking at the other stables. As she searched, she heard a small whine and looked into another stall that was empty, her eyes wide adn jaw dropped. There was Lady with some puppies, dry and wiggling. There was only 4 though. Large dogs had small litters for some reason and this was also Lady's first litter. (Older pup pics))  Female  Male  Female  Female |

Jake had just gotten back from Crickle Wood, and had heard the news from Josh he sprinted into the barn, finding Sam and puppies.

Sam looked up at him, sitting admist the puppies and their mum and grinned.Want a puppy? she asked, smiling softly. The grey male whinnied softly and wiggled to his mom, suckling soon.

Sam smiled at Jake and looked at Anna.Anna, shoo or stay back. I don't watn Lady upset, she said, Lady growling at her. No dogs woould ome near HER pups. Sam studied hte pups and looked up at Jake.Do you think we should keep them all? Or sell a few? she asked.If we do, I will have to make sure they can care for them well.

The grey male is awful handsome, I think we keep him at least. And the slimmer female, she's pretty too. He said studiing the four large puppies.What'd you think?

Sam smiled softly, stroking the grey male and the bridnle female Jake liked.They are nice, she said gently.The male can be up for stud but not with hsi sisters or his mom. THe male whined softlysnuggling up to his mum and the three females crawled around, the brindle more fierce then the others. But the tiny black wasn't as eager or fierce then the other ones.

Aidan took a deep breath, wondering what was going on. Had they found Lady yet? He was worried about her, and when he went into the barn, he heard low murmurings coming from one of the stalls. Curious, he walked forward and looked in, his eyes lighting when he saw the puppies and Lady. He didn't go in...not sure how his presence would be met. His eyes swept over the small forms of life, his heart instantly going out to the black female. She seemed alone and helpless...almost like him. But he would never say anything about it. |

Sam heard someone come in and looked up, seeing Aidan. She smiled softly as Lady whinied, her head up and her ears perked.Hey Aidan. Come over ehre and get a bette rlook at the pups, she said softly.

He looked at Sam, and then Lady, seeing her ears and hearing her whine. He took a deep breath and let it out, then stepped forward and into the stall. He took a seat on the other side of Jake, and looked at the puppies. He didn't touch them, because he dind't know if Lady woould want him to. He had sat right by her head, well..near it anyway. He was careful..for he dind't want to make her angry with him. |

Lady whined again and licked at his hand, her eyes soft and thier normal mournful selves. The black female cried out softly, wiggling around. She was farthest away from Lady and was lost, her world dark and silent, just like the others. Her nose bumbed into Aidan's knee and she nuzzled it, thinking he was Lady.
