When she woke up, it had been rather dull, with nothing really planned for the day. Upon looking at the horses that would be sold, she'd had an epiphany as to what she could do. Good thing, too, as she wasn't one for housework.
The crisp air weaved through her hair, tossing it here and there as it pleased. She jogged the rest of the way to the barn, eager for it's warmth. Sasha took out Prince of Spades, a yearling who had to be worked on more with leading and a bit of bombproofing. He'd spent most of his time in a pasture out by the yearling barn, playing with the others born at the same time. Since Kai Winters would be coming over within the next couple of weeks, it'd be better to start polishing up.
She led the colt into the indoor ring, where there would be less distractions than outside. Prince snorted and danced, thinking of it was a game. Sasha choked up a bit on the lead rope, gaining better control of him. Once they'd gotten into the arena, she shut all the doors and let him loose. He was pretty good about not nipping, but needed to get used to getting caught as well as leading. The first couple of times took small bits of carrot to coax him over so she could get ahold of his halter. He resisted at first, but after a couple of times got used to the routine. Once she'd caught him several times without a problem, it was time to move onto bombproofing.
Sasha let him loose once more while she scattered various items from a cardboard box across the arenas, from ropes to fake snakes to paper bags and jump standards. She caught the colt once more and began leading him around, showing him everything before they started the harder part.Click. What was that? Another person entering the arena? Her eyes grazed over each door, finding them all securely locked. Perhaps someone had come in to get a horse. Perhaps it was for the better, as there would often be distractions whilst riding. Besides, she was getting a bit lonely.
