Aidan smiled over at Jay and nodded as Josh spoke.Yeah... He didn't know what else to say. He glanced out the window and then saw the girl again. He furrowed his brow and turned back to Josh, speaking quietly.Do you know who she is? And why she just stays here all of the time? |

Josh looked over adn smiled sadly.I think she is Nicki. Jay knows her alittle. SHe lives at teh orphanage adn keeps to herself, he said quietly.

At Josh's words, Aidan froze up. He leaned back in his seat and nodded.Oh.. He said quietly. He didn't want to think about the orphanage, because that was where he had almost ended up. |

Josh nodded and drove out of the parking lot back to home, deciding they could dig through the school supply closet back at home.

When they finally reached home, Aidan gently shook Jay's shoulder, wondering if he wanted to go for a ride maybe. He looked up to Josh and then opened the door, unbuckling.THanks.. His voice was monotone and not excited at all. He waited for Jay to wake up, looking back at the house. |

Aidan shook his head with a small smile and grabbed Jay's arm, pulling him gently from the truck.Yeah..come one..we're going for a ride... He said happily and waited for Jay. |

He just grinned and shook his head, then walked easily to the barn. He spoke to Charlie gently and then pulled her out of her stall, haivng slid her halter and leadline on. Brigning her out, he clipped her into the crossties and brushed her down, making sure she was clean and all set. He went into the tack room and grabbed the english saddle pad and sad, and girth. Putting them on her, he looked over to see what Jay would say. He put his helmet on and then her bridle, then led her outside the barn. Tightening the girth, he pulled the stirrups down and mounted. Since he was the only one that had ridden in it, they were still his length. He walked her in a circle, waiting for Jay. |

Jay was in Dewy's stall, takcing him up. The young stallion whinnied excitedly, filled with glee. Normally, Jay would ahve rode Shady but she was due any day now. Once Dewy was tacked up, he opened the door and hopped on, letting him trot out of his stall.COme on slow poke! he yelled happily.

Aidan just laughed as Jay came out, yelling slow poke. He asked Charlie for a trot, and she followed willingly after Dewy, tossing her head. She wanted to run...and Aidan did too. They were both antsing for speed, and he hoped they were going to the field so they could. |

Jay said something to Dewy adn Dewy took off, cantering down the road to teh fields. There was a huge hay field Sam was going to get plowed up and they coudl ride in it until then. Dewy whinnied again and Jay held him in a careful cnater, making Dewy arch his neck and try to bite the cheek part of the bit.

Aidan watched as the other pair shot off. He kept Charlie at a trot until she was warmed up, and then let her go. She cantered quickly, her neck arching as Aidan applied the right pressure. She tossed her head and threw in a little buck, but then complied, cantering like an english horse. Aidan smiled and soon caught up to Jay and Dewy, standing up slightly in the saddle. He pushed her forward and into the field, finding the clearing of the straightaway. |

Dewy saw them pulled ahead of him and snorted, tossing hsi head lightly. Jay talked to him softly and he calmed down, halting hsi fighting at the bit. WIth gentle pressure on Dewy's left side, they turned sharply into teh hay field, taking off into a full gallop.

As Jay flew by on Dewy, Aidan only smiled and held Charlie in. She was going at a fairly good pace, and she had speed left to spare, so he was waiting until it gathered until she exploded. Feeling it coming, he suddenly eased up on her mouth and let her go. She flew forward with speed and energy and soon caught up to Dewy. Aidan held her in so that the two pairs were running side by side. |
