Lilith rode Rose over some 5'4 straight poles, being watched from the fence by Emilie.
When she was finished, Lilith hopped down off the bay mare and took her down to the
barn to wash her down and put her out in the field for the night. A few minutes later, they
both met Kai on their way back, and tried to persuade him to come over and have some
thing to eat with every one. But he said he had work to do, and then was off. Lilith
pondered on the though that her boss must get pretty lonely up there by himself.''Poor
Kai, no one to talk to up there, he’s always really busy'' she said to Emilie, the other
girl agreed, and then smiled off handedly.''He’s pretty good looking, I'm surprised he
hasn’t got a girlfriend'' she said, and a sly look appeared on Lilith face, and she
smirked and raised a brow.''Thinking of trying to get him all for yourself? Only
joking! Don’t hurt me!'' she said and jumped away as Emilie glowered and raised a
hand and then they both gave a giggle. Both liked chatting, and spent most of the
evening doing so. But none the less the both walked back to the guest house. On the way,
they met Charlie. And all three went back together. The group went in and turned on the
lights, and Charlie went straight to the one bathroom to have a shower. Emilie went and
got changed, into a pair of black cropped jeans and a yellow strappy t-shirt with white
wings on the back of it. She then went and lounged on the sofa. Lilith attended to the
cooking, making a vegetarian meal for Emilie and put together home made pizza for the
rest of them. She began topping the already done pizza base, when Charlie walked in
with a towel rapped around his mid-drift and began searching around the fridge for some
soda.''Go and put some clothes on you moron!'' Lilith shrieked when she spotted
him, and shoed him out of the kitchen with a cooking book.''MEN!'' she exclaimed
exasperated, and continued with her cooking. Charlie came down a little later with some
jeans and a white t-shirt on, and flopped on the couch next to Emilie, who threw a
cushion at him when he sprawled himself over as much of the sofa as possible. They both
laughed as they took shots at each other with the cushions, until they were completely out
of breath. Then Charlie vanished again and Emilie took up the rest of the sofa, and when
the boy came back, he seated himself on the other sofa and turned on the TV, and flicked
through the channels. The wonderful smells of cooking drifting in from the kitchen
opposite.

Joe closed the door behind him. Coming back down from the stables.
He dissapeared into his room for a moment then came back changed into jeans
and a white shirt. As he rolled up his sleeves, he sank down into an armchair and
mindlessly watched the pictures moving around on the screen. He didn't knnow
what he wasactually watching, so he stared blankly at the box. The faint smell of
pizza was wafting from the open door to the kitchen. He pushed himself up from
the chair and left the room to go and investigate. He didn't know whether he was
welcomed in the kitchen, judging by the fact that when he had come through the
door, Lilith had been yelling at Charlie in a half amusing way to get out. He remembered
laughing to himself about her second word. Men. He smiled and carried on towards
the kitchen. Lilith was standing at the side-boardputting the toppings on the pizza.
Joe stood at the door uncertainly. He asked Is it safe to come in? He smiled and
laughed slightly. Waiting for her to either whack him with a cook book, or let him in.

Lilith started grating the cheese into thin strips, until
she had collected a small pile on the chopping board and sprinkled it on top of the pizza,
over the top of the tomato puree she had spread earlier. She noticed someone hovering at
the threshold of the kitchen and jumped around brandishing her heavy cookbook.''Oh
its just you, well at least your not wandering around in a towel'' Lilith said scowling at
Charlie who poked his head round the entrance then hurried away again.''Yeah, come
in. Just don’t go near the oven, its getting hot now'' Lilith said, and began putting
pepperoni on the pizza as well. Once she was finished she placed it inside the oven and
set the time and temperature. After that she busied herself with the cupboard.''Do you
want anything? Coffee? Tea? Hot Chocolate?'' she asked smiling over at him as she
took out five mugs, and placed them on the work surface.

Joe watched her sprinkle the toppings onto the pizza, and laughed when
Charlie was shooed away from the kitchen again.Hard luck He thought to himself.
His expression turned to one of curious humor. He wans't sure who she was talking
about, but he had a hunch it was Charlie. His face turned back to it's normal appearance
and he nodded obidiently as she instructed him not to go anywhere near the oven.
He smiled and answered:Oh, umm, yeah I'll have a coffee please He moved to
sit down at the table in the middle. Emily's horse magazine had been left there. It
was the one he had seen her reading when she had first arrived at the stables. He
glanced out of the window at Kai's house. He thought tat his friend must get pretty
lonley up there all on his own. He asked Lilith:Does Kai ever come down? His
eyebrows deepened into an inquisitive frown. Then his face relaxed and he listened
for an answer.

''Will do'' she said, and set about making Joe a coffee. She made hot chocolate for
Emilie, she couldn’t really stomach Coffee, and wasn’t all to good with Tea either.
Charlie was getting a coffee, as well as herself. Once all the drinks were finished she first
placed the coffee in front of Joe and then went to the sitting room to give the others there
drinks, Emilie and Charlie giving her their thanks as she came back to the kitchen and sat
in a chair opposite Joe with her own drink. It was then she heard his question and then,
thought for a moment before replying.''Sometimes, he comes round in the
mornings to tell everyone to get up or he'll set off the sprinklers'' she said with a small
laugh,''But otherwise, not usually.. He makes his own dinner and everything'' she
said, even she was impressed at how organized Kai was.

His eyebrows raised slightly. Impressed by Kai's ability to organize himself.
He had never been that great at doing so himself. He smiled and said:Thanks
as Lilith handed him the mug of coffee. He laughed as she told him about Kai's
visits in the morning. He took a sip of the mug in front of him, stood up and moved
over to the other side of the kitchen. Where he picked up the pot full of sugar
and took it back to the table, where he did not sit back down, but went to get
a spoon. When he did finally slouch into a chair, he helped himself to the sugar
and strred it into his coffee. He smiled at Lilith I hope you don't think that I'm
critisizing your coffee making skills He said jokingly. A small smile caressing his
face, which was just visible from over the rim of his mug.

She laughed at his comment,''No worries'' she said and took a sip of her coffee and
then glanced at the oven where the pizza was cooking, and checked the timer by the side
of it, and then looked back to Joe, her odd coloured brown and green eyes resting on him
for a second, before she though of something to say.''Oh, did you hear? Sara has had
twins! And neither of them were still born!'' she said happily and then presented
Jowell with the other news.''And Pandy had a foal as well, but no one can go near it
except Charlie'' she said with a sigh, she had wanted to go and stroke the foal, since
its father was her own colt Ace.

He smiled and his eyebrows raied, partly at her knowledge, and then
lowered as he smiled. He said:There's no point telling me much yet, I don't
know who any of the horses are. He smiled almost apologeticly to her.
Then a faint laugh escaped him. He took another sip of his cofee and then glanced
back out the window. He shouuld probably exercise Billie later. He chewed the
inside of his mouth. An annoying habit that he hadn't been able to get rid of. Sort
of like when you can't stop biting your nails. He looked back at the table, and
a newspaper cought his eye. He started to read it upside-down.

Chelsea, having dragged her oveladen cases up the stairs just a couple of hours ago, was still unpacking. Fitting all her cloltes into the wardrobe was porving little difficult. However, now, she steped back and admired her work. Sure, if she tried to take somethng out, it would probably explode, but i was good. Her riding clothes, she'd laid out along with her stable-work clothes over a chair near the bed. She'd need them more often than her others. She'd already changed from her skirt and jacket - her interview clothes - into some dark blue flared jeans, a cream shirt and a black casual waistcoat. She wasn't exactly sure what to wear to meet her new colleagues, but she guessed it would be pretty informal, so she didn't bother with shoes. Finally satisfied with her hair and make-up, she turned and strode out the door, hitching a smile on her face. After descending the stirs from room 5, she knocked quiety on the door she knew to be the kitchen, impressed by the wonderful smells emanating from the room byond. On enering the room, she could see the tabe had been set, and two people were already present. Chelsea felt a little bad interrupting, but from their conversational tones it didn't seem like there was anything going on between them. So, tilting her head to one side, she said,"Ooh, do I smell pizza?"

Lilith looked over the rim of her mug, after taking a sip of the coffee and her eyes rested
on a girl, who had just spoken.''So this is the new girl!'' she said, placing her mug
on the table and a friendly smile spread over her face. Lilith then nodded in reply to her
earlier question ''Your lucky Kai told me that someone would be arriving later, I've got
enough pizza for us all'' she said, taking another glance at the oven before looking
back.''I'm Lilith, or Lilly''

Joe spun around in his chair as the girl spoke and smiled at her, partly
because of her words and just out of pure friendlyness. He needed to meet
as many new people as he could. He drained the last of the coffee in his mug,
and got up walked over to the sink, and leaned against the surface next to it.
Leaving a chair free for the new arrival. The smell of pizza was coming fromt he
oven. It made him realize just how hungry he was. He folded his arms for a moment,
turned around and began to wash out the cup. Afterwards, his hands smelt of coffee.
He rubbed them on his jeans to dry them, and smiled as he moved across the
room towards the girl who had arrived, held out a hand and said:Hi, I'm Joe
He smiled and waited for her to either shake his hand or say hello back.

"Lily, Joe.." she repeated, putting the names to the faces. She didn't want to get mixed up. She took hold of Joe's hand and smiled."Chelsea Daniels, at your service!" she said brightly, before moving to sit at the table. The smell was enticing; she hadn't eaten a home-cooked meal for a few days now. The room was nice and warm, too, and had a homely feel. Chelsea was already loving the atmosphere. She had heard voices from another room when descending the stairs too so she supposed she might see some more new faces later. She glanced over at Lilith. The girl was very pretty, but seemed to be kind too. Joe had been very friendly too, and Chelsea hoped she might be able to see more of them when she was working during the day so she could get to know them."So how long have you guys been working here? Kai seems really nice, she added, tapping her fingertips lightly on the table.

He smiled at her, and sat in the seat between the two girls.
He replied:Kai,
nice? He laughed slightly and leaned back in his chair, stretching. He added:
I haven't been here long, just about a week maybe two. He leaned forward
in his chair again and slunk down into it. He could smell the pizza strongly now and
it made him all the more hungry. He aimed his next question at Chelsea:Have
you met the others yet An inquisitive look rested on his face and he began to
spin a stray coin around on the table, rather annoyingly.

Lilith watched Chelsea seat herself, and picked up her mug of coffee and took a few slow
sips of the drink, finishing it.''I've only been here about.. four days maybe?'' She
said, questioning herself almost. She pushed her hair from her face and got up. She
washed out the mug and left it on the draining boards. Next she took five plates from the
cupboard and laid them out on the work surface as she fetched the pizza from the oven.
She cut it up evenly and in rather generous pieces, and then put them on the plates. She
placed the salad for Emilie in the remaining one and carried two plates over and placed
them in front of Chelsea and Jowell.''Eat up, Charlie might steal them of you
otherwise'' she said with mocked exasperation. And then called round the kitchen
doorway to the others.''C'mon you lot, foods ready!'' Emilie bounded in and took
her salad from the counter and then sat at her usual place on the end of the table, then she
noticed the other girl.''Oh hey, I'm Emilie'' she said with a smile, and began eating,
rather daintily. Charlie walked in a few moments later and picked up his plate and sat
down as well, he nodded towards Chelsea as a greeting, already stuffing his face.
''Manners!'' Lilith said an cuffed him around the head, causing him to cough
loudly.''That’s Charlie'' she said to Chelsea, and partly to Joe because she didn’t
think he had spoken to him yet. Lilith sat down again in her original seat, glancing with
raised eyebrows at Charlie who seemed to already have finished the sizable piece she had
given him.

Joe seemed like an easy-going guy by the relaxed way he seated himself, and his casual speech. Chelsae felt immediately welcome when talking to him. Lilith, however, seemed more like the mother figure, and Chel had already gained a certain amount of respect for her. As the pizza was served out, Chelsea gazed at it admiringly before being caught off-guard as the others entered. She had been about to answer Joe, but instead gave him an apologetic smile as two new people bounded in. She smiled again, this time more casually, as the two were introduced. Charlie already seemed like great fun, she noted, despite him not talking to her. And Emilie was a veggie, obviously. She seemed nice, and Chelsea was sure she'd find a friend in her."I'm Chelsea," she said, starting to eat. Then, quickly, she added,"but you guys can all call me Chel. I'm so excited about starting work! Is it real hard?"
