ooc. very quick.
Lilly rode into the arena she had set up as a jumping course of 1ft to 2ft6. She rode Cariba, who was doing exceptionally well. As for her and her horse, Love, It wasn't exactly working etween them. She had decided to look for a stallion to breed her with. She cast her gaze to Love, who was calling to her mate, Breeze. They adored each other. Regaining attention, She trotted around the arena, remembering the events of the morning. She couldn't expect anyone to know, the only person she'd told was Sasha on the form she filled out to work. It was no biggy. She was used to being forgotten.

Matthew Lush had just groomed and tacked up the bay Oldenburg mare he was working with, Hot Cocoa, and was leading her up to the arena when he saw Lilly riding Caribia. For a moment, he thought perhaps he should turn back and work in the round pen, so as not to disturb her. But he and Cocoa wouldn't be doing much, and it wouldn't hurt to say hello and perhaps get to know Lilly better. So, he led the Oldenburg into the ring and mounted, flashing Lilly a smile and waving slightly. He adjusted his position before taking the mare to the rail and walking her around a few times.

Lilly returned the smile instinctivly. She trotted the arab mare around, for a while feeling her warm up. Her attention only wavered when her gaze fell apon the gorgeous mare. he like the Oldenburg, but only allowed a smile to hint. She asked Cainba o round naturally, and used circles to gain her full attention. Not much dsturbed Lilly when she was ridding. Not noise and sound, not even someone speaking to her closeby. Nothing. But not tody. Today her thourghts were busy pushing the day to the back of her mind, and her eyes kept wandering to the two. Normally, despite being opanl social normally, she wanted to be alone when riding, but when it was Matthew, well, Lilly didn't mind so much. She shook any thourghts from her head and trotted towards the first jump.

Matt watched out of the corner of his eye as Caribia and Lilly approached the first jump. He'd never really talked to her, but she didn't seem to be bothered by him riding with her. After a moment of thought, he nudged Cocoa into a trot, posting smoothly to the familiar gait. The sun was high in the sky, but not blistering. It was comfortably warm with just a bit of humidity, but soft breezes that rustled the leaves on the trees helped with that. It was one of the nicest days you could ask for, and it brought a smile to his face as he and Cocoa headed for a cavalletti.

Jumping the small jump easily, Lilly felt Cariba's confidence build. She steered her over a 2ft6 spread, and Cariba leaped over it with loads of room to spare. On that note, Lilly slowed to a walk, giving the mare some soak time ans she praised her. Lilly's eyes flickered to the pair jumping. It occoured to her the two were the same age, yet they had bearly exhaged passing 'hellos'.

Though he hadn't been working with Cocoa that long, he'd decided that he should see if she would jump. And what better way to find out than by actually jumping her? As they came closer to the jump, which was only a foot high, he could feel Cocoa become a bix anxious. But seeing as she hadn't jumped in a while, that was okay. The Oldenburg hesitated, but jumped over, her smooth trot now a choppy two beat gait. The mare tossed her head and snorted as Matt steered her to the rail and slowed her. He gave her a pat while thinking. Cocoa knew what she was doing, but didn't want to. Perhaps she'd had a bad experience with a previous owner. As the pair walked by Lilly and Caribia, a similar thought passed through Matt's mind. The two were about the same age, but they didn't speak much. He usually hung out with Frank and Gerard, who were 21 and 22. From what he saw, Lilly usually hung out with Sasha and Jen, who were older than her as well. Perhaps they should get to know each other better.

Lilly watched the awekwad jump with a slight frown, poor Cocoa, something wasn't right. Lilly smiled at him. She turned down the centre line and halted Cariba, stopping to adjust her stirups.

Matt brought Cocoa to the center as well.I'm thinking that she grew up and was trained with a good owner, then got sold to someone who took it out on her when she didn't want to jump. What do you think? Sure, the conversation he'd started was about horses, not something that allowed him to get to know her well, but it was a start.

ooc. Happy b'day for yesterday!!!!!*Blows whistle*
Lilly turned to look him in the eye. Yeah, that would make sence. She said softly, looking the bay over. What's that on her leg? She pointed to Cocoa's right front leg. It looked alright, but Lilly saw something from her angle. She dismounted, and felt over a sore scar. Moving the hair reveled a scar across just below her knee on her cannon bone. Ouch. Perhaps hit on a jump?

((thank you!)) Matt looked down and dismounted as well.Hmmm, maybe. I hadn't noticed that before. He moved to Caribia's head and rubbed between her eyes.My poor baby. That musta hurt, huh? He kissed her on the nose before moving next to Lilly and studying the scar more closely. That must be why she doesn't want to jump. She doesn't want to get hurt again.

Lilly nodded frowning. It's hard re-establishing that sort of trust again. I know. She said and raised her eyebrows on the last bit. She immidiatly bit her lip, willing herself to forget. Turning away, she set up a jump, and a second, further away, but paralell to the first. See if she will walk between these.

Although he noticed the eyebrow raise and the lip bite, he didn't say anything. After all, she was helping him, and he didn't want to bring up bad memories.Okay, Matt said and lead Cocoa to one side of the jumps. He tugged gently on the reins and clucked his tongue softly. The mare took a few steps closer, then stopped, eyeing the jumps suspiciously. A few murmured words to Cocoa got her a few steps closer before stopping again.

Lilly frowned, and pushed up the mare from behind, asking hewr to walk through and halt. She pushed a jump closer, slowly so as to not toally freak her out. Once she accepted Matt would do well to jump it again, smaller, to build up confidence! She straightened up and faced Matt. The silence was boring her. Hey, so um... How long have you been riding? Not the best converstation starter, but it'd have to do.

The mare, though hesitant, did as the two humans asked and stepped forward, moving to where Lilly asked before stopping. As the jump gradually grew a bit closer, Cocoa grew nervous and pranced a bit, but didn't bolt or rear. Matt watched Lilly, the silence deafening. He was somewhat relieve as she asked a question, it ended the awkwardness of the situation. Since I was about 9. I rode a little before then, but when I was nine I started getting serious and doing more lessons. he paused, thinking back to how his cousin had taught him how to ride. What about you?
