Ajax bolted back and forth, and soon began ramming the pasture fence. He would get out and see what was going on. There was something else here, and he wanted to know what it was. It seemed wild, like him, and he thought if there was another like him, there was a chance he could cope..even if she was from Arabia. He bucked and soon the fence cracked, enough for him to use the rest of his power to knock the top fence rail down. That was enough for him. He was the destroyer of fences here...and he couldn't help it. WHen he got his mind set on something, he would do it. He cantered away and then turned, hurrying forward and leaping the fence. His halter hung loosely from his face and he sped forward, his tail held high into the air like an arabian's. He snorted and flared his nostrils, gathering speed and stamina before sliding to a stop near the trailer, flinging up rocks and dirt. He pranced back and forth, eyeing her carefully.

The mare screamed and lunged at the wall, her eyes filled with hate. Her teeth tore at the bares, trying to chew them off, but she couldn't. Nate looked at Ajax and made a shooing motion with his hands.Back off boyo. Jay will slaughter me if you get beat up, he said inhis gruff voice. Sam sniffed softly, wiping her eyes. Jay sat up, blinking and looked at Aidan.Aidan? I am scared.... What if it gets hurt even worse.. What if wolves are after it? he whimpered, not knowing the mare was in the trailer. he thought it was outside, either being worked on by Sam or being chased.

Ajax reared back as Nate made a shooing motion with his hands. But he obeyed, staying back for the moment. He would investigate later though, let that be clear. He snorted and watched with perked ears, his eyes bright and alert. Aidan had been in a light sleep, so when he heard his name, he woke instantly, and then listened to Jay's question. He lifted the pillow from his head and glanced over to him, leaning on his elbows to elevate him a little bit. It's alright Jay. She's still in thet railer..listen to the clattering. ANd you know Sam and Nate would never let anything happen to a horse here. He comforted, waiting for the boy's reply before even thinking about sleep anymore.

Jay whimpered softly like a dog and crept over to the window. He could see Sam and uncle Nate standing next to eachother, Sam looking away from the trailer now. He could see a sliver coat and a black mane of the horse screaming in rage. Another whimper came from Jay and he leaned against the window sill. The mare screaemd again, moving abit more sluggish. But she wouldn't bow down to the two leggers. She wanted to get away from here, be free.

Aidan heard the whimper and groaned softly to himself. How was this ever going to work out? Je closed his eyes once more and put the pillow over his head, drifting once more and praying for morning. That would mean he made it through one night with this fake leg. He sighed and moved over so Jay could come over if he really couldn't sleep. Ajax suddenly caught a familiar scent upon the wind and turned his head immediately. He snorted and then cantered quickly away, his tail still high in the air. He made his way to the familiar window and slowed, walking the rest of the distance. He nickered softly and reached him, then nudged him gently, looking at him with gentle eyes.

Jay pushed the window open quietly and put his hand out, whispering the stallion's name. His eyes were sad and worried, a odd expression to his nomral happy and peppy face. The mare screamed adn began to buck, gettig tired. Her movements were even more sluggish and she began to pant, stopping to rest. This went on for awhile longer until she couldn't stay up. Sam went over to her, talking softly.Oh baby.... I am sorry... I am so sorry, she whispered, stroking the mare's shivering and sweating neck. A wide white eye looked at her, filled with terror and anger. But she let them lead her into a corral with sweet smelling grass and down soil. Was this an oasis in the desert of pain?

Ajax snorted softly and nudged his outstretched hand. Going forward, he lifted up his head so he could look into the window. He nickered softly and looked over at the form of the sleeping boy. Something wasn't right about him. He snorted once more and then relaxed when he was near Jay, although he didn't like the look upon his face. He raise dhis muzzle and touched his cheek softly, nuzzling once or twice. Lowering it again, he shook his idal and waited softly for Jay's next word or move.

Jay smiled softly at the stallion, scratching Ajax's forehead. You are a good boy Ajax... Do you know what is happening? he asked in a hushed voice. Seeing movement, he looked up and gaped, eyes wide...Holy....shit... he said, swearing for the first time in his life.Aidan, we have to go outside, right away!

Ajax only nickered, looking at him with gentle eyes. He knew what was going on, but he couldn't explain it to him. Sighing, he jumped slightly as Jay jumped, and then took off, galloping back to the pasture. Poor Aidan got freaked out of his mind, and he jumpedso much, he ended up on the floor, his real leg still stretched up onto the bed. What? Jay what's going on? He questioned groggily. What was going on that the boy kept waking him up? He groaned and lifted himself up with the help of the bed and then grabbed his crtuches, standing up with them. He looked at Jay for a moment and wondered what way he wanted to go. Out the window..or to the front.

Jay yanked the window shut and hopped off the bed, shaking. You have to see this thing... I don't even think its a horse! he said as he jumpedup and down by the door, eyes wide and worried. The mare snorted softly, her sides heaving. She felt groggy. Did the two leggers drug her? No, it was something wrong with her. A sigh escaped her open mouth as seh chewed at the air, trying to figure out what to do. Sam, meanwhile, tended the mare's wounds, stitching them, bandaging them, and hoping they wouldhead. She almost seemed like herself.

Aidan furrowed his brow and followed the hurrying boy out of the room, barely able to keep up. He had shoved his shoes on again, and his leg looked normal because it was hidden by the pants. He wanted to believe that. He still had his leg..it was all a bad dream. Sighing, he knew it wasn't true. Shaking his head, he went down the steps, nearly falling in his haste. He followed after Jay, wodnering what was going on.

Jay threw open the door and ran out, headed to the corral he saw them lead the mare to. When he got there, he froze in place, staring at the mess of a horse. What happened to her? Backing up abit, Jay waited fro Aidan. The mare snorted and squeled when Sam bumbedher wounded leg and Sam soothed her by talking aoftly, cursing silently that she didn't know Arabic.

Aidan followed after him and looked at the horse. No...he couldn't. He shook his head and backed away hurriedly, and ended up colliding with the ground because of his haste. He cried out suddenly, the pain hitting him in a wave of power. He swum in and out of conciousness for a moment before regaining himself and looking at the mare. He couldn't..he couldn't look at her. It was weird...but she reminded him too much of him. Backing away hurriedly, he closed his eyes tightly, ignoring all of the sounds around him and remaining upon the ground.

Jay went after him, grabbing his arm.Aidan, we have to help! She is in pain, Jay said urgently, trying to pull the older boy up buthaving no success. Sam looked up from her work, feeling like herself, and saw Aidan and Jay, Jay pulling on poor Aidan's arm like a someone trying to pulltheir pet along. You two, come over here please, she called, feeling guilt in her heart when she look at Aidan's poor leg. The mare snorted, feeling trapped but it was a good feeling of being traped. Like staying in a cave during a powerful storm with your herd. The wildness rose up in her and she tossed her head, trying to get up. But the human girl, a mother to be by her scent, just looked at her with sad eyes and she had to lay down. Curse humans and thier emotionful eyes.

He heard Jay's words, but he couldn't look. He didn't want to. Why should he when he knew how she felt. As Jay grabbed his arm, he shook his head and wrenched free.I can't...I just can't. He said, a reply to both Sam and Jay's words. He wouldn't go over there. He just wouldn't. The mare would be afraid of the crutches, and he wouldn't walk on his leg yet. It hurt too much, and he didn't want to cause himself anymore pain. He shook his head, unable to speak any longer. They wouldn't understand. But he did....He knew exactly what the mare was going through.
