((I just made a coming home post if that's alright...)) He was glad to be back at home, and not stuck in that hospital. He didn't ever want to go back there. But now every little thing made him jump, made him think that his father was going to show up out of no where. He took a deep breath to steady himself slightly, and walked forward, the small limp still visible in his step. His face still held bruises and scratches, but it didn't look as badly as it had that first night. His ribs were still wrapped tightly and his ankle was still healing from the slight sprain. He wanted to see Charlie, but he didn't think that he could make it out to the barn. Lowering his gaze, he went right into the house adn to the room he shared with Jay. He eased himself down on the bed and brought his knees to his chest, staring out into space. |

Walking into teh room, Lady looked at Aidan and whined softly, her tail fanning the air. Her teats were hanging down from her pups constant suckling and she was tired, having chased the two steers that were to be sent into the butcher. They didn't want to go but she made them go into the trailer, with help from Duke and Dasi of course. Her head reste don his bed while she still stood up and she looked at Aidan, giviing him a doggy smile.

Aidan jumped when he saw the door opened, and then he relaxed when he saw Lady. Unfolding his arms slightly, he reached out to stroke her head when she laid her it on the bed. Sighing softly, he looked into her eyes as she whined.I'm scared Lady. What if he comes back? He knew she couldn't answer him, but it helped to talk to her. It seemed like she would understand out of everyone.Thanks for saving me girl. He told her and rubbed her head softly, then scratched behind her ears. |

Lady whinned again. Sam was working with a horse in the arena, Josh and Jay were in town, and she didn't know where Jake was. But she was worried about one of her pups, the tiny black one. Gripping Aidan's wrist softly, she whimpered and tugged on it softly, her eyes sad. What if something happened to it? She didn't know what to do.

Aidan heard her whine and furrowed his brow.What's the matter Lady? He said softly, and then watched as she took his wrist gently. As she pulled, his knees unfolded and he stood up. She seemed upset about something, and he wanted to help. He'd follow her wherever she wanted to take him, so he just waited. |

Lady trotted into the living room, nosing her pups. She had brought them in for abit, to play in the carpet. But the tiny one wasn't moving as fierce and she just laid there quietly, whimpering once in awhile. Their eyes were beginnign to open adn the male and oldest female were on a rampage, running about.

He followed after her as quickly as she could, even with the limp in his step. Getting there, he heard her whine and watched as she nosed her pups. The smallest female wasn't moving as much as the others..and Aidan remembered her from the first time he saw her. He had liked her a lot, and felt an almost connection to her that day. BUt it wasn't his choice to keep her or not. He hurried forward and kneeled down, settling on the ground beside the black pup. He looked up at Lady.She'll be alright Lady. He said and gently picked up the puppy, cradling her close in his arms. He wondered what could possibly be wrong with her. |

Misty had came inside to see who came. She had her nose on the ground sniffing Aidan's trail. Her tail was going 90 Miles an hour. Misty could tell,this person was really nice. She then found herself in the Living Room,there was Lady,Aidan,and Lady's puppies.

The runt whimered softly, nosing his fingers. Her tiny body was even smaller, her ribs sticking out faintly. The others chased about and she merely cuddled in him arms. With a sigh, Lady laid down and the other rans to her, grabbing a teat. The male and oldest female grabbed the top ones and the other grabbed a bottom. There was only four teats.

Aidan let her cuddle and watched as Lady laid down to let her pups nurse. That was why she didn't feel good..she wasn't getting enough milk. He laid her gently on his lap and then carefully and softly pried one of the bigger pups off of one of the top teats. He gently lifted the black puppy up and held her nose in front of the teat. Hopefully she would take it. The older one would be able to eat from the bottom. He waited patiently, wanting to help her. |

The runt nuzzled teh teat and fianlly grabbed it, suckling softly. The male burrowed under his sister and grabbed the bottom teat, suckling away. As the pups ate, Lady sighed again, closing her eyes. When they were done, she could grab something to eat. But as teh runt nursed, she grew stronger.

Aidan breathed a sigh of relief as she started nursing, and then let his free hand rest on Lady's side. He looked over at her with a small smile.See girl? She just needed to nurse a bit... He pointed out. She probably hadn't been able to get under her brother when he was nursing from the top, and he felt better that he was able to help. It was also taking his mind off of the other things that were bothering him. |

The runt finished eating a let go of the teat, tettering softly. Her legs stiffened and she looked up at Aidan, her tail wagging softly. At 4 weeks, there guys were bigger than Linny, the poor girl. Soon the others finished and ran around, her puppy smooth hair not so smooth anymore as their wiry coat came in.

AIdan smiled as she finished and he let her down gently, softly. He stroked her head gently, being careful with the small puppy. He really liked her, and he knew he wished that he could keep her...but he would never ask Sam. He sighed softly and then let her go, urging her to play. It would help her later. He looked over at Lady and patted her side, knowing she was a good mother. He looked back at the puppy.Are you going to play? |

The runt growled softly and jumped on his leg, trying ot bit it. But all her baby teeth did was scratch the surface of his pants. With a soft snort, Lady got up, leaving the pups with Aidan, and trotted into the kitchen to eat.
