Sam rode in on Samurai, the mare's hooves kicking up sand. They halted in the center of the arena and Sam looked around herself, eyes narrowed.[n]Josh, what are you doing? [/b] Sam asked bitterly. Josh ;looked over at her from behind a barrel, smiling sheepishly. Just.. wanted to watch., he said and put a radio on the barrel. Pressing the cd button, Josh switched to Sam's song, May it Be by Enya. Sam shooed him away and she and Samurai stood in teh middle, quiet. The music played softly and Sam nudged Samurai's left side, keeping pressure on that side. Samurai sidestepped, her head lowered, and when Sam nudged her forward, she began to canter around the arena.[/center]

Aidan was going through...a slight state of depression. His birthday was tomorrow..and he now realized how much he missed having a mother and father. Sam and Josh were great...but he wanted his own parents. And they weren't any better then dirt. He kicked at the ground as he moved along, and thought about school. That wasn't even any better then what he was going through. There were too many people who thought they were better then anyone else. The popular kids probably toalked behind his back about his bruises and scratches...his bandaged ribs and splinted finger. That was just something he had to face. Sighing softly, he heard hoofbeats inside of the arena. It couldn't hurt to watch..could it? Maybe it would cheer him up a little bit. Shoving his hands into his pockets, he moved forward and stood silently by the rail.

Samurai and Sam moved as one, turning around on the mare's back hooves. Samurai snorted and they slowed to a trot, moving sideways. Samurai snorted, tossing her head, and Sam nudged her into a canter, the mare moving delicately. They continued their practice, a routine for something Sam liked to do.

AIdan watched, his mind thinking quickly. It was like they were dancing...a western form of dressage. He watched intently, wondering if doing this made Sam happy. He didn't even want to ride anymore, and he knew that Charlie was being neglected.

Samurai reared up, her hooves flailing in the air and they were on. THe musics beat began to go faster as the woman began to sign in speedier Galic. Turns, circles, lines, it all created dust that made it seem magical.

Aidan stood in utter amazement as they moved in unison, dancing as a pair. He only wished he could create something as good as that...as beautiful or as moving. It didn't seem like a wounded soul ever could. He sighed softly and looked over in Josh's direction, and then began watching one more time.

Josh had fled before Sam and Samurai began to dance. Sam didn't like it when he watched. Samurai went into swooning, moving side to side with both her bdoy and head. She moved forward but looked like a drunk walking or a swan swimming. Carefully, Sam leaned back and placed her hands firmly on the mare's rump. She hoisted herself up, standing in teh air on teh mare's back with herhands, but soon went back to teh normal riding postion.

Aidan's eyes were trained on every movement that the pair made, watching as their happenings took shape into a dancelike number. He smiled, the first time in a long time. As Sam lifted herself up, Aidan knew that was what he wanted to do. He wanted to learn how to trick ride, and barrel race..and he would be set. But this dancing was something he liked as well. A horse that did dressage would be perfect for something like that. Maybe he could train Charlie..for he knew the basics. He watched, his mouth opened slightly.

Samurai bucked softly and Sam pulled her to a stop, patting hte mare's neck lovingly. Her eyes wandered around the arena and stopped on AIdan, blinking a few times in surprise. SHe smiled softly and nudged her mare to walk over to him.Something will fly in your mouth if you don't close it, she teased.

Aidan popped his mouth shut quickly when she caught sight of him. He suddenly felt as if he was going to get yelled at for watching her private time with Samurai. He shifted nervously, not making eye contact. Her one sign that he was about to become fearful.Yeah...uh..sorry. He refused to tell her that he disliked school. SO every time she asked about it, he put on a fairly convincing smile and said he had had a good day..the classes were fine, and he was meeting new people. And that was it. He shifted once more and waited for her words.

Sam got off of Samurai and went over to Aidan, lifting hsi chin up to look at her.We all missed you today, she said quietly and hugged him from the other side of the fence. Sam walked up and lipped thier hair, snorting. With a luagh, Sam let go of Aidan and scratched the mare's cheek.Jelous hon? she asked the mare.

Feeling his chin being lifted, he looked up at her. He was getting tall, and he wasn't a midget anymore...so Josh couldn't call him that...hopefully. He was still as thin as a rail..but he was gradually filling out. He had never thought that that would happen. Sighing softly, he heard her words and nodded.Yeah..I missed being here. He told her honestly. At least that was one truthful thing. He didn't even smile when the mare came over and lipped his hair...something unlike Aidan. There was a reason beyond his intense sadness..and he wasn't going to let it out easily.

Sam studied him, her head tilted to aside.Shall we start your lesson?[/b[ she asked calmly, her eyebrow raised. Some of the horses in the pastures lifted thier heads and began to whinny to a horse that was walking down the road, briskly trotting. Its saddle was empty and the horse's reins were dragging in teh gravel. Sam paid a little attention to it but looked back at Aidan.Hmmm? What do you say? she asked.

Aidan watched as she studied him, wondering what thoughts were running through her mind. Taking a deep breath, he exhaled, and then furrowed her brows at her words. What lesson? He didn't think he had a lesson...Looking at her in confusion, he spoke with just as much uncertainty. What lesson? He questioned, and then followed her gaze to the drive. Seeing the riderless horse, his eyes widened. Shouldn't they go get it and see who had fallen maybe? He looked back at her in question, but she seemed unperturbed by it.

Sam smiled softly at him, rubbing his head.Did you forget? Trick riding lessons? she asked, an eyebrow raised. The horse was Alexial's old foal, looking around. In the distance, a person was bellowing, its voice faint but clearly pissed.
